High School, Inc. is a four-year college prep school for Hartford Public School students in grades 9-12 who are interested in pursuing careers in the insurance and financial services industries.
High School, Inc. is part of the National Academy Foundation (NAF), a national non-profit organization with over 550 academies in 40 states and the District of Columbia. As an NAF Academy of Finance, the students at High School, Inc. are prepared to pursue post-secondary education in finance-related majors as well as careers in the finance and insurance industries. The NAF model creates partnerships between educators and business leaders, who secure internships, volunteer in classrooms, act as mentors and serve on the Advisory Board.
The school opened its doors in August 2009 with 200 students in grades nine and 10 and has expanded to 400 students. Under the leadership of Principal Terrell Hill, High School, Inc. has made incredible gains. It has also been recognized nationally for the work it’s doing with students, and featured in: Black Enterprise Magazine, Channel 3 Cool Schools, Fox 61 News The Real Story, The Hartford Courant and The Point of View.
High School, Inc. is open to all Hartford Public School students through the “all choice” system where they can determine the school they want to attend in Hartford.
